Design of a bionic flapping wing mechanism based on RSSR mechanism and analysis of aerodynamic characteristics

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Abstract Flapping-wing aircraft have broad application prospects in scientific research and engineering. Based on the spatial offset RSSR mechanism, this paper designs a bionic flapping-wing structure. By deriving the kinematic equations of the mechanism and taking the preset flapping angle of the wing as the optimization objective, the key dimensional parameters of the mechanism were optimized. The Adams and XFlow collaborative technology is used to numerically simulate the complete flapping process under typical operating conditions (5 Hz flapping frequency). The aerodynamic characteristics of the designed model are comprehensively analyzed. The lift test results are in good agreement with the simulation data. In addition, according to the test, the influence of different motion frequencies on the attitude characteristics of the flapping wing aircraft was analyzed.
