MODEL ADOPTION #1042: REJECT — LEDGER BENCH: Apply filter: Quarterly phase = MANIPULATION — improves win rate from 31.6% — E8 Intelligence Research
Abstract
DECISION: REJECT ELEMENT: The MANIPULATION phase filter is not a concrete, testable edge compatible with E8 geometry timing. It is a calendar-based quarterly heuristic that does not align with the rhythm logic of E8-node/Gods-Clock. The backtest improvement of +0.6pp (n=1007) is statistically marginal and likely noise, especially given the small sample of MANIPULATION phases. The filter would reduce trade frequency and introduce a dependency on a phase definition that may shift or disappear as market structure evolves. No single precise rule survives because the filter lacks a mechanistic link to the E8 timing model. EXPECTED IMPACT: Negligible to negative. The +0.6pp win-rate improvement is within the noise floor for a 1007-trade sample. The filter would reject trades like USDJPY LONG (rizzy, closed win) while avoiding losses, but the net PnL delta is ambiguous and small (+0.2% to +0.5%). Over time, the filter likely reduces total trades by ~25% (quarterly phases) without a commensu Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK. Part of the E8 Intelligence Research series.
