Collatz Conjecture Unsolved; MATH Dataset Shows No Novel Constants — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

FINDING: Collatz Conjecture remains unsolved; MATH dataset benchmarks machine problem-solving; viral Olympiad problems show no novel universal constants. MATH: Collatz: f(n) = n/2 if n even, 3n+1 if n odd; no closed-form solution or invariant discovered. MATH dataset: 12,500 competition problems, no new constants. CONNECTION: None. No geometric ratios (0.382, 0.618, 0.786, 1.618, 2.618), base-60, or crystallographic symmetries appear in these results. DEPTH: 2 — These are educational or benchmark resources, not fundamental mathematical discoveries. No advancement in understanding universal structure.
