Resurrection, the Intelligible Soul, and the Aeons of the Father's House

Abstract

This paper presents a theological and cosmological study of Christ’s teaching on resurrection, light, the kingdom within, and the “many mansions” of the Father’s house, arguing that these statements reveal a coherent doctrine of the intelligible soul. Through close exegesis of key Gospel passages and analysis of Greek cosmological vocabulary, the study interprets Christ’s language as pointing to an ordered structure of consciousness and sacred time rather than a merely physical world. It situates this teaching within the wider ancient tradition of intelligible reality—from Pythagorean harmonic order and Plato’s cosmology to Plotinus—while maintaining that Christ provides the originating revelation that later metaphysics only formalises. The paper further integrates the symbolism of the wheel‑cross, the potter’s wheel, the zodiacal circle, and the Padua astronomical clock, showing how ancient instruments of measurement express the same theological grammar found in Scripture. The conclusion proposes that Christ’s proclamation forms a unified architecture in which resurrection unveils eternal consciousness, the soul stands at the centre where temporal latency meets eternal light, and the aeons of the Father’s house constitute the intelligible order to which human consciousness belongs.
