The Tension of Creatio Continua: Cosmic Expansion, Entropy, and the Eschatological Promise of Anakainosis
Open access0 citations
Abstract
This article examines the theological implications of the accelerated expansion of the universe, driven by dark energy, in light of the Christian doctrine of creation and New Testament eschatology. It argues that transience and thermal death implicit in the standard ΛCDM model operate as a physical correlate of the Pauline “labor pains” (Romans 8:22), resolved metaphysically in the promise of anakainosis (Revelation 21:1).
