Extended service catalogue (NFDI4Earth Milestone MS3.1.3)

Abstract

NFDI4Earth cooperates with re3data to ensure that repository information remains accurate, up to date, and comprehensive, as it is one of the primary sources of repository metadata for the NFDI4Earth Service Catalogue. This is an ongoing process, and, as in previous years, this work has continued successfully. For RDM services, the first comprehensive collection of service metadata was established, mapped to the NFDI4Earth Service Schema, and published through the Knowledge Hub and OneStop4All portal. In 2025 the number of updated repositories entries at re3data counts to 10 out of 150 national repositories and 3 repositories were suggested and accepted for registration. Regarding the RDM services an initial metadata collection was conducted via a survey of 75 providers, yielding 29 valid responses covering a broad range of Earth System Science services and tools. Most entries were successfully mapped to the service schema and integrated into the NFDI4Earth services. The collection, curation, and integration of repository and RDM service metadata strengthen the Knowledge Hub by connecting these resources with datasets, software, publications, and other research resources. These semantic connections enable more contextual and task-oriented resource discovery for the Earth System Science community.
