SecureX: A CCTV & Security Service Booking and Management System — Technical Report

Abstract

SecureX is a web-based CCTV and security service booking and management system developed to digitize the workflow of security service providers. The platform enables customers to browse security services, create accounts, authenticate using traditional credentials or Google OAuth 2.0, submit service bookings, track booking status, access invoices, and receive automated email notifications. The system includes an administrative dashboard for managing services, users, customer inquiries, and booking requests. A key feature of SecureX is its booking conflict detection mechanism, which validates service schedules and helps prevent conflicting bookings while suggesting available alternatives. SecureX is implemented using Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Blade, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Google OAuth, and Laravel Mail following the Model–View–Controller (MVC) architectural pattern. This technical report documents the system requirements, architecture, database design, workflow, implementation, security mechanisms, validation process, results, limitations, and possible future enhancements.
