Abstract

Abstract Under photocatalytic conditions, a novel and highly reactive trifluoromethylthiolation reagent, S-aryl trifluoromethanesulfonothioate (TTSA), reacted with various unactivated alkenes to produce sulfurized and trifluoromethylated derivatives in high yields. Furthermore, a series of experimental studies were conducted, such as radical trapping experiments, scrambling experiments, cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements, Stern–Volmer analysis, and light on/off control experiments, to support the photocatalytic reduction quenching cycle reaction pathway.
