Case Report: Management of Flabby Ridge in a Completely Edentulous Maxilla Using Window Technique

Abstract

AbstractFlabby ridge presents a significant challenge in complete denture prosthodontics because displacement of mobile tissues during impression making can compromise denture retention, stability, and support. This case report describes the prosthodontic management of a 62-yearold male patient with a flabby ridge in the maxillary anterior region extending from premolar to premolar. A conservative prosthodontic approach using the window impression technique with light-body elastomeric impression material was employed to record the flabby tissues in a minimally displaced state. Conventional complete denture procedures were followed for the mandibular arch. The technique resulted in improved denture adaptation, retention, and patient comfort.
