Synthesis of 1,4‐Dihydroquinolines via [4 + 2] Annulation of Aminobenzylphosphonium Salts With Ethyl Benzoylacetate Derivatives

Abstract

A novel synthetic strategy for the preparation of 1,4‐dihydroquinolines has been developed through [4 + 2] annulation of aminobenzylphosphonium salts (ABPS) with ethyl benzoylacetate derivatives. This protocol features mild reaction conditions, readily available starting materials, broad substrate scope, and good to excellent yields.
