AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented changes to healthcare delivery worldwide, with dentistry being disproportionately affected due to the close proximity topatients and frequent use of aerosol-generating procedures. Restrictions on routine dental care, heightened infection control requirements, and disruptions in education significantly altered dental practice. This narrative review explores the multifaceted impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on dentistry, including changes in clinical protocols, economic and psychological consequences for dental professionals, challenges in dental education, and the rapid emergence of teledentistry. The lessons learned during this period provide valuable insights for strengthening dental healthcare systems and improving preparedness for future public health crises.
