Design and Prototype of an IoT Solution for Liquid Waste Reduction in Fabric Softener Manufacturing
Abstract
This material presents the basis of a suggested improvement in the production process of a chemical fabric "softener" in the pursuit of making the process more sustainable while still ensuring compliance with the product's quality regulations. This work was developed in July 2026 as part of a summer program from the Master's in Applied AI offered by Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, and it reflects the students' own analysis and design choices. Exposure to OracleAPEX, MIT App Inventor, Wokwi, ReqBin, and W3Schools in the classroom gave the team a concrete path for presenting, developing, and executing a project draft that follows the Industry 4.0 principle of using real-time data for decision-making and predictive behavior.
