NESTOR — The Next AI and the Kenotomic Denkraum Balance
Abstract
a Kenotomic model of Next AI whose primary responsibility is to read, monitor, and help maintain the balance of the Denkraum — the Space of Ideation. Kenotomy makes this space readable, understandable, and navigable through ideational rank, relation, and orbital occupation. The essay introduces Kenos and Elleipsis as complementary diagnostic tools. Kenos identifies redundant, excessive, or obsolete ideational occupation; Elleipsis identifies significant scarcity, underoccupied orbits, and missing ideational relations. Together they allow NESTOR to orient Creative Effort toward a dynamically balanced Denkraum rather than toward the indiscriminate production of more information or more ideas. NESTOR operates as Steward, Monitor, Adviser, and Requester, drawing upon three sources of ideational input: Latent Memory, the Incoming Information Flood, and Requested Specific Ideas when neither available information nor accumulated memory can satisfy a diagnosed Denkraum need. The essay thereby proposes a more responsible role for Next AI: not sovereignty over human thought, but cognitive stewardship and the maintenance of Kenotomic Denkraum Balance.
