Abstract

English Abstract: This paper constructs a sub-paradigm within the “Productive Political Philosophy” framework for the comparative study of religion. It argues that when universal religions expand into different civilizational regions, they are reshaped by the pre-existing subjectivity “containers” of those regions—containers whose forms are ultimately shaped by geographical and climatic conditions over millennia. The paper establishes a comprehensive typology of four civilizational containers, systematically validated through four cases: Christianity's “liquefaction” in Europe, Islam's “softening” in Southeast Asia, Buddhism's “humanization” in China, and Islam's “absorption-solidification” in India. It distinguishes between “liquefaction” and “humanization” in their philosophical orientation, reveals how structural differences within hybrid containers determine transformation trajectories, and introduces a “transformation cost” perspective—the tension between adaptive transformation and doctrinal purity serves as an endogenous driver of subsequent evolution. The paper further operationalizes criteria for transformation depth, proposes a typology of three evolutionary pathways, delineates the paradigm's boundaries, and distinguishes it from religious market theory, religious ecology, and acculturation theory. This framework provides a unified analytical tool for understanding divergent outcomes of universal religious propagation across civilizations. Keywords: Civilizational Container; Universal Religion; Subjectivity Form; Liquefaction; Softening; Humanization; Transformation Cost; Geo-Climate; Sub-Paradigm.
