Abstract

It is a profound honor to serve as Guest Editor for this special issue focusing on Periodontology, a discipline that forms the core and foundation of dentistry. The professionof dentistry is currently navigating a profound paradigm shift.Regenerative biomaterials, digital workows, biologically driven therapies, AI-based diagnosis and treatment planning, robotic surgery, minimally invasive techniques etc. have placed in our hands a clinical capability that would have seemed inconceivable a generation ago. The natural inclination is to celebrate this era as the age of advanced dental treatment. As our therapeutic horizons expand, our most enduring contribution to public health is measured not by what we restore, but by what we preserve and prevent.
