PASSIVE CARBON SKIN

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Passive Carbon Skin is a public R&D proposal for a retrofit, spray-applied functional coating designed to turn existing mineral roofs and façades into passive CO₂ contact surfaces. The concept uses natural wind, temperature and humidity cycles to couple reversible atmospheric CO₂ capture with mineral retention, without active air movement or high-temperature regeneration. The proposal provides testable hypotheses, baseline formulations, environmental stop criteria, a 90-day feasibility programme, and a staged path from laboratory testing to a pilot roof. It presents a researchable technical possibility, not a validated product claim.
