Laser decontamination of radioactive surfaces: scoping review
Abstract
Abstract This review aims to consolidate and critically analyze the current knowledge on laser ablation for the decontamination of radioactive surfaces. By examining 48 manuscripts, including academic papers and technical reports, the study compares different laser regimes, materials, and contaminants in order to identify operational trends, practical guidelines, and limitations of the technique. By synthesizing dispersed experimental results, this work seeks to provide conclusions relevant to process design and to support the development of more efficient laser-based decontamination strategies for radioactive waste management.
