A Monotonic Dose-Response Relationship in Voynichese Prefix Selection The edy / eedy / eeedy Vowel-Length Series

Abstract

This research note presents evidence of a clean, monotonic dose-response relationship between vowel-run length and prefix-construction pathways within the Voynich manuscript's most frequent root family. Specifically, as the root morpheme -edy is doubled to -eedy and tripled to -eeedy, its rate of combination with direct prefixes (ch-, sh-) drops from 33.6% down to a zero-exception 0.0%, while layered prefix classes remain compatible. This quantitative rule provides a unifying explanation for an asymmetry previously identified as an unresolved gap in Jorge Stolfi's 2000 foundational grammar of the manuscript
