Naissoubli: From Birth to Oblivion — Educational and Strategic Board Game for Learning About Human Life, Health, Nutrition, and Prevention
Abstract
Naissoubli: From Birth to Oblivion is an original educational, strategic, and reflective board game created by Doumbia Amara in Côte d’Ivoire. The game transforms the human life cycle into an interactive learning experience, inviting players to symbolically progress through the major stages of human existence, from the prenatal period through youth, adulthood, old age, and the final stage of life. The central educational purpose of Naissoubli is to make concepts related to human biology, nutrition, health, preventive care, human development, and responsible decision-making more accessible through play. Rather than presenting these subjects exclusively through theoretical instruction, the game uses physical components, resource management, strategic choices, and simulated consequences to encourage players to learn through experience. Players must manage resources symbolizing nutrition, vitamins, medical care, and other factors associated with human development. Their decisions can influence subsequent stages of the life journey, creating opportunities to understand cause-and-effect relationships, anticipate consequences, manage limited resources, and develop long-term strategies. From a pedagogical perspective, Naissoubli promotes experiential and active learning. Players are encouraged to observe, analyze, compare alternatives, make decisions, evaluate consequences, adapt their strategies, and reflect on the relationship between health choices and human development. The game therefore supports the development of cognitive and educational skills such as logical reasoning, strategic thinking, anticipation, problem solving, resource management, decision-making, observation, adaptability, and understanding of sequential processes. The game also provides an accessible introduction to several educational themes, including the human life cycle, prenatal development, growth, aging, nutrition, health prevention, healthcare, and personal responsibility. Its interactive format may make it suitable as a complementary educational resource for families, schools, teachers, educational institutions, health-awareness activities, training environments, scientific outreach, and other learning contexts. Naissoubli is designed not only to entertain but also to stimulate discussion, reflection, knowledge acquisition, and awareness. By connecting gameplay with scientific and health-related concepts, the project illustrates how board games can serve as tools for informal education, experiential learning, and knowledge communication. The game combines:Human Life + Biology + Health + Nutrition + Prevention + Strategy + Education + Reflection The project is currently presented as an original board game concept with a structured game system and educational framework. Further prototype development, playtesting, balancing, graphic development, and professional production are intended to strengthen the final educational and gaming experience. This publication presents the general concept, educational approach, game universe, components, mechanics, innovations, and potential applications of Naissoubli. The portfolio does not constitute the complete official rulebook; detailed technical information and the complete rules may be provided to interested publishers, educational institutions, investors, researchers, partners, or other authorized parties.
