Synthesis, structure and photophysical properties of a novel lanthanide compound with a 3D framework structure
Abstract
A novel lanthanide compound (H3O)[Eu(pydc)(H2O)3(OH)]3Cl·1.5H2O (1; H2pydc = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid) was synthesized. Its crystal structure is featured by a three-dimensional (3D) structure. Photoluminescence measurements reveal that it shows intense reddish-orange emission. These photoluminescence emission peaks can be asscribed to the characteristic emission of the 4f electrons intrashell transition of the 5D0 → 7F0 and 5D0 → 7F2 of the Eu3+ ions. Compound 1 exhibits CIE chromaticity coordinates (0.6078, 0.3915) and correlated color temperature (CCT) 2627 K. The UV/Vis diffuse reflectance spectra indicate that it has a semiconductor bandgap 3.93 eV.
