Ontosystematics: Foundations of a Systematic Science of Ontological Nodes

Abstract

Ontosystematics is the positive conceptual science of ontological nodes: their identity, composition, difference, inheritance, migration, transformation, and recombination across the habitats that host them. Its founding distinction separates a habitat — any historically occurring formation that hosts, warrants, orders, or explains ontological determinations, whether cosmological, poetic, theological, juridical, logical, naturalistic, scientific, metaphysical, or a-metaphysical — from an ontological node, an isolable determination concerning being, individuated by its content, scope, polarity, and inferential role rather than by its vocabulary, provenance, or habitat-specific warrant. Habitats occur historically; nodes are identifiable across their occurrences. A node may survive the dissolution of the habitat that first warranted it, migrate into an incompatible habitat, separate from nodes with which it once travelled, and recombine with others. The science identifies, states, tests, and types ontological delta — the typed difference between two maximally reconstructed articulations of a determination concerning being — and distinguishes the delta-undetermined case, where adjudication is incomplete and novelty remains open, from an adjudicated zero-delta finding, where after maximal reconstruction and gate closure no typed difference survives. "Zero" expresses logical nullity after adjudication, not a lowest magnitude on a scale. Delta is typed, never measured. Relations fall in four families: delta relations between articulations (inheritance, augmentation, subtraction, transformation, reversal); complex-formation relations (combination, recombination, convergence); occurrence-history relations (transmission, migration, reactivation, recurrence); and one lateral relation, the collateral relation — symmetric, non-transitive, holding between complexes neither derivable from the other, addressing the same determination-space, with mutually independent complements, at least one denying a determination at the other's centre. Relations are assigned componentwise: a single global label may not replace the node-level ledger. Its first law is Montaruli's Razor: ontological doctrines should not be multiplied beyond their ontological differences; a later position must be assessed by what it changes in the maximal prior articulation of the relevant determination concerning being; where no ontological delta can yet be stated, novelty remains an open question. Its complementary canon requires that every position first be addressed in its full power. Its condition of possibility is the release of the object: inside a habitat under metaphysical government a determination does not present itself as portable but as warranted, so that what such a habitat offers is not a node but a node-under-its-warrant. Detaching a determination from its warrant is available only to a doctrine holding no term whose warrant it must preserve. That release is performed by Ethical Ontology and constitutes the region's institution; ontosystematic practice is thereafter operationally independent, requires no determination about what a node is or where it resides, and classifies Ethical Ontology's own nodes without immunity. No method is possible where there is no object. The ordering is read from the word: μετά and ὁδός, the eye turned back onto the road already walked. A region must be open and a direction possible before anything is walked, and only then can method be disclosed. Method is doubly subsequent, and a path is not the ground of the country it crosses. This deposit registers the controlling architecture of the founding article, including its elementary objects, its identity criterion, its first law, and its reflexive self-test. No historical firstness is claimed. Files are withheld pending publication. Version 1.7 records the Carrier–Node, Emergence, and Propagation settlements: carrier is added as an elementary term with its binding prohibition; priority is separated into object, region, instrument, and canon; the adequacy matrix has four offices; the object- and regional-priority search has reached its ratified stopping point after assessment of Heidegger, Schürmann, Gilson, Badiou, Aristotle, Aquinas, Deleuze, Foucault, and Courtine with Boulnois, none occupying the object or the region and all crediting instrument ancestry. The controlling article plan V4.3 travels with this version. Version 1.8 records the first performed canon self-test. The Razor was tried under the four tests of §11 and convicted on the periphery test: the record had ranked assessed positions by their distance from this inquiry, which converts typed differences into comparative distances. The printed consequence is applied — the burden rule is withdrawn as a rule and retained as a heuristic, while the identity-adjudication rule and the verdict space stand without it — and a register discipline is installed at §11.4-bis forbidding any ranking of an inquiry by its distance from this one. Every file in this version has been swept of comparative formulations before deposit.
