Demystifying the Black Box: Overcoming AI Intimidation by Building the Engine

Open access0 citations

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of Artificial Intelligence has created a paradigm where the majority of the world interacts with AI purely as consumers - prompting opaque, cloud-hosted "black boxes." This paper explores a pedagogical approach to AI education that pivots the learner from a consumer to a builder. By documenting the journey of constructing a local-first, multi-agent Python framework (AugAgent) and bridging it to a native mobile application (Auglite) on a standard personal computer, we demonstrate how practical, hands-on construction demystifies complex architectures. We argue that the true power of Agentic AI lies not merely in computational efficiency, but in its ability to empower learners, providing psychological direction in the rapidly shifting landscape of modern technology.
