What Weaves,What Is Woven?
Abstract

A central challenge for entanglement-based approaches to quantum gravity is not only to show that spatial relations can be reconstructed from quantum correlations, but also to specify what must already be given for such a reconstruction to be well-defined. The claim that space is "woven from entanglement" condenses one of the most productive programmes in quantum gravity into a single metaphor — and conceals three questions in one verb: what carries, what orders, and what emerges. As long as these remain fused, the field pays a price in kind: proposals addressing different questions are read as rivals, a gap between what is proven and what is claimed stays invisible, and the factorization problem lacks a criterion for what would even count as solving it. This paper contributes no solution candidate; it contributes solvability. We distinguish the bare carrier (Träger) from three grades of order — Gefüge, Gewebe, Geflecht — and all four from the emergent Landschaft of metrical relations. The lexicon does three things. It reformulates the problem's circularity in one testable sentence: which Gefüge on the carrier renders the Gewebe legible as Landschaft? — yielding an adequacy condition any proposal must meet without borrowing the Landschaft it is meant to ground. It resorts existing answers as responses to different sub-questions, partly composable rather than competing. And it names, in Geflecht, the unproven multipartite remainder of the slogan — "woven from entanglement". We mark precisely where the lexicon ends: at time, at the direction of depth, and at what it brackets.
