Identification of a pathogenic fungus from naturally diseased Bidens pilosa

Abstract

A pathogenic fungal strain was isolated from naturally diseased B. pilosa leaves collected in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, China. The strain was identified as Pilidium acerinum based on morphological characteristics and ITS rDNA sequence analysis. The ITS sequence was extracted from whole genome sequencing data generated on the Illumina platform (paired-end, 150 bp).
