A Local Correspondence Between Mathematical Languages

Abstract

This paper establishes a local mathematical correspondence between the algorithmic theory of information developed by A. N. Kolmogorov and Shannon's mathematical theory of information. Rather than proposing a new definition of information, the paper constructs mutually interpretable local representations of the two formalisms without modifying their original mathematical structures.
