The Brain of a Guitarist as a Model of Long-Term Learning: Evidence from Structural and Functional Neuroimaging

Abstract

This essay synthesizes neuroscientific evidence from both general musician studies and guitarist-specific research in order to better understand how long-term learning is reflected in the brain. By examining the methods and results of selected studies and discussing their relevance for learning and education, this essay seeks to bridge neuroscience research with lived learning experience and to reflect on how such findings may inform educational practice and educational planning. In addition, the author also wants to explore ongoing challenges, which will shed light on further research.
