Abstract

FINDING: E8 root system projects to 4D quasicrystal with golden ratio family constants emerging from 240 minimal vectors. MATH: E8 lattice minimal vectors = 240; golden ratio φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618; φ⁻¹ ≈ 0.618; φ² ≈ 2.618; Fibonacci chain spacing yields icosahedral quasicrystal; icosagrid uses 10 plane sets with icosahedral symmetry. CONNECTION: Golden ratio family (0.382, 0.618, 0.786, 1.618, 2.618) arises directly from E8 projection; icosahedral symmetry (crystallographic 5-fold) linked to E8 via quasicrystal modification; base-60 not explicit but Fibonacci chain implies modular arithmetic.
