Opposing drug effects on magnesium and micronutrient status in type 2 diabetes: proton pump inhibitors, SGLT2 inhibitors, diuretics and metformin: a scoping review

Abstract

This project contains the manuscript and supporting materials for a completed PRISMA-ScR scoping review examining drug-induced mineral and micronutrient disturbances in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The review maps evidence regarding the effects of proton pump inhibitors, SGLT2 inhibitors, diuretics, and metformin on magnesium and other mineral or micronutrient status, identifies knowledge gaps, and summarizes current evidence to inform future research and clinical practice. The project includes the manuscript, search strategy, PRISMA-ScR checklist, and supplementary materials where applicable.
