Abstract

From Mathematics to Structure to Stone to Window A layered philosophy of durable knowledge, material expression, and replaceable interpretation Core sequence: math → structure → stone → window This paper formalizes a four-layer model for building knowledge that can survive translation, institutional drift, technological change, and contested interpretation. - Math: stable formal relations within stated axioms and transformations- Structure: the observable organization those relations produce (proportions, dependencies, sequences, symmetries, load paths)- Stone: the durable implementation that actually carries functional or evidentiary load- Window: the replaceable narrative, interface, terminology, or institutional presentation The central claim is methodological rather than metaphysical. Windows may change. The stone must remain accountable to structure. The structure must remain accountable to its mathematics. The framework does not claim that mathematics alone uniquely determines physical reality. It does not treat narrative as evidence, an implementation as an eternal principle, or mathematical elegance as a substitute for empirical fit.
