Abstract
Version 4.0.2 (Kaizen permanent fix for PDF math rendering, 2026-08-02). Root cause diagnosed: XeLaTeX with default Latin Modern fonts cannot render Unicode math characters (μ, χ, ϕ, ℚ, ₃, ∫) inside $...$ math mode because the prose font lacks these glyphs. Permanent fix: added unicode-math package + Latin Modern Math font to pandoc header — activates the comprehensive math font for ALL math mode content, eliminating all 231+ font warnings observed in v4.0.1. Only 1 cosmetic warning remains (typographic dash ‒ in references). No content changes. IsNewVersionOf: 10.5281/zenodo.21755636 (v4.0.1).
