Abstract
Version 4.0.2 (MathJax PDF rendering, 2026-08-02). Root-cause fix for PDF math rendering: XeLaTeX with default Latin Modern fonts lacks glyphs for Unicode math (mu, chi, phi, Q, subscripts, integrals) causing hundreds of font warnings and unreadable mathematical expressions. Permanent fix: rendered via pandoc --mathjax (HTML) + headless Chrome print-to-PDF, the same browser-based MathJax approach Obsidian uses. Result: 41 pages, 0 U+FFFD, all math glyphs rendered (verified via PyMuPDF). Also fixed YAML frontmatter bleed and 6 LaTeX escape artifacts in references. No content changes from v4.0.1.
