The Coherence Engine: A Conceptual Device for Converting Structural Light Energy
Abstract
The publication presents the Coherence Engine, a conceptual photonic device designed to convertthe structural energy of light—coherence, interference, spin, orbital angular momentum (OAM), field gradients, and geometric modulation—into practical electrical, mechanical, or informational output. Unlike photovoltaic systems that rely solely on photon energy, the Coherence Engine utilizes the organizational energyof electromagnetic fields, enabling operation independent of sunlight and even in complete darkness. This work establishes the physical foundations of structural light energy, outlines the full architectureof the Coherence Engine, and provides a detailed operational mechanism. It also introduces the Light Beyond Photons Union, an open scientific collaboration initiative dedicated to advancing structural‑light technologies. The publication includes a curated Invited Collaborators section listing leading researchers and institutions across eight foundational domains: optical vortex beams, optical tweezers, spin–orbit coupling, structured light, photon acceleration, spacetime metamaterials, gravitational optics, and frame‑dragging physics.These researchers are formally invited to collaborate on the development of the Coherence Engine.
