10.12 Biological Origin and Evolution

Abstract

A rigorous geometric-theoretic definition of the Information Template is given: Information Template ≡ the steady-state configuration ρ_eq on the Sector Parameter Space Σ, which is the necessary equilibrium state of the Birkhoff Mixing Matrix metric on Σ. The birth of a biological individual is the materialization of the I-Sector template via the projection operator Π_obs in the M-Sector; evolution is the process by which the system migrates from one ρ_eq to another ρ_eq on Σ under C-Sector driving. Directionality and completeness are guaranteed by the M-I Coupling Theorem and the H-Theorem.
