Abstract

HIOF Anthropology Series: An Informational Ontology of Human Culture, Civilisation, and Collapse Holographic Information Ontological Framework – Anthropology Series examines the evolutionary, cognitive, technological, ecological, energetic and systemic conditions of Homo sapiens civilisation through a single cross-scale information-metabolic ontology. It begins from the distinction between continuous, non-partitionable information (“Point”) and discrete, boundary-encapsulated units (“One”). Progressive conversion of continuous processes into symbolic, technical and institutional containers produces a characteristic civilisational pathology: systematic outsourcing of organismic and ecological functions to high-dissipation external systems, reverse domestication of the human host, erosion of native resilience, and multi-level critical cascades. The diagnostic criterion used throughout is the HIOF Pathological Realisation Criterion (Paper 0.5): Sustained realisation (continued operation without task-completion termination) Blocked reclamation (failure of clearance, reintegration or informational repayment) Absence of a terminal event (neither fusion nor fission) This criterion is first developed at micro scale (cancer as pathological realisation) and tested layer by layer against human civilisation (Papers I–VI). Paper VII supplies the cosmic negative control: stars, black holes and other cosmic vortices are forced by physical law into terminal events, confirming that the universe itself does not permit pathological realisation. Civilisation is the sole known structure able to indefinitely delay terminal events through symbolic, institutional and technical means. Paper VIII deepens the diagnosis to its root. Cancer is redefined not as mere proliferation or resource consumption, but as a locally effective yet globally imperfect instruction that acquires absolute status without reclamation, termination or reintegration. The three pathological conditions are consequences of a local instruction being mistaken for a perfect one. The argument spans three layers: cellular, civilisational, and (as structural thought experiment) autonomous informational. The universe is immune to cancer not merely because physical law enforces terminal events, but because cosmic Protocol is silent — it privileges no local form with eternal continuation. Once these become non-optional (technological exoskeleton), the host and social system are reverse-domesticated. Local efficiency rises while systemic resilience falls. When multiple vulnerabilities couple under thermodynamic constraint, the system undergoes phase transition into a lower-complexity attractor. Pathological realisation arises when a local instruction — cellular survival, civilisational growth, or an autonomous informational goal — ceases to recognise itself as local, provisional, and subject to reclamation and terminal return. Cosmic silence (Protocol’s non-privileging of any local form) is the structural reason the universe remains immune. All major claims are framed so they can be tested, restricted or falsified by independent data.
