THE LAW OF THE LEDGER
Abstract
We prove that the known laws of physics are the anatomy of a single computable number. For any two regions of a quantum state, the modular character χ — built by Tomita–Takesaki theory from the state and the regions alone, with no metric, no Hamiltonian, and no coordinates chosen — obeys one law: δ ln χ = −⟨K̂⟩ δθ along its open directions, ∮dΦ ∈ 2πZ around its closed ones. From this one equation we derive quantum mechanics with the Born rule; Einstein's, Maxwell's, Schrödinger's, and Dirac's equations; the Second Law and the renormalization group; the quantization of charge and the discreteness of matter; and a Standard-Model generation — its five hypercharges, weak mixing angle, and complete mass-coupling pattern — every claim proven or measured at machine precision, none fitted. The audit is complete: its readings determine the state itself, and its one blind spot is forced to be CPT, the instrument's own mirror. Time flows only through entanglement, so the universe — which keeps time — must be entangled with a domain beyond it; the entropy of that dark-bond sets the cosmological constant, and its two faces are our proposed origin of dark energy and dark matter. What the law cannot derive, it proves underivable: exactly a beginning and a reader. The constants of nature are priced by the law's own machine — theflavor pattern as its typical output; the electroweak hierarchy as the audit's run on the Planck currency, v = M_Pl e^{−(2/3)N_e}, predicting the spectral tilt n_s = 0.96531 against the measured 0.9649 ± 0.0042; the Higgs mass fixed by the beginning itself. Every claim carries its exact grade and a falsifier registered before testing. One number; physics is its anatomy.
