E-ASSESSMENT WITH AI: FAIRNESS, FEEDBACK, AND FUTURE SKILLS

Open access0 citations

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper examines the emerging role of artificial intelligence in educational assessment systems and its implications for fairness, feedback mechanisms, and the development of future-ready skills. As educational institutions increasingly adopt e-assessment technologies powered by AI, significant opportunities arise for personalized learning experiences, immediate feedback, and assessment of previously difficult-to-measure competencies. However, these advances introduce complex challenges related to algorithmic bias, equity in access, and assessment validity. Drawing on current research and case studies, this paper analyzes the technical, pedagogical, and ethical dimensions of AI-enabled e-assessment. The findings suggest that while AI can enhance assessment processes through automation, adaptivity, and analytics, thoughtful implementation frameworks are essential to ensure these technologies support rather than undermine educational equity goals. The paper proposes a comprehensive approach to AI-enhanced e-assessment that balances innovation with ethical considerations, centers student needs, and aligns with developing the competencies required in rapidly evolving digital economies. Educational stakeholders must actively shape these emerging assessment ecosystems to realize their full potential while mitigating risks to educational fairness and quality.
