Expression of concern: Lightweight bolt state detection based on a dynamic weighted loss function

Abstract

The publisher is issuing an Expression of Concern for the following article, Zhang Q. and Li W. (2026), “Lightweight bolt state detection based on a dynamic weighted loss function”. International Journal of Pervasive Computing and Communications, Vol. ahead-of-print No. ahead-of-print. Link to the cited article. An investigation by the publisher identified concerns with the article’s handling and the independence of the peer-review process. The article’s findings, theoretical contributions and conclusions currently remain intact, however, and the publisher has not been able to confirm whether the authors were aware of these concerns. As a result of these concerns and as trust in the content is central to the integrity of the publication process, the publisher has therefore taken the decision to publish an Expression of Concern. This decision has been informed by COPE’s guidelines on Expressions of Concern and Emerald’s publishing ethics. The publisher of the journal sincerely apologizes to the readers and authors of this article, who were not found to be involved in any malpractice.
