A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY ON RISK FACTORS, LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS, PHARMACOLOGICAL PROFILE AND ASSOCIATED CO-MORBIDITIES IN WOMENS WITH POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME
Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age characterized by irregular periods, hormonal imbalance, and polycystic ovaries. Retrospective findings show that obesity, central fat accumulation, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, chronic stress, and family history of diabetes or weight gain. Management mainly involves lifestyle modification like such as calorie controlled balanced diet and regular physical activity. Medication like oral contraceptives, metformin, anti- androgens, and ovulation -including drug are used based on symptoms. PCOS is often associated with insulin resistance, type -2 diabetes, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and thyroid disorder. Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary can improve long -term outcomes.
