DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF ANTIOXIDANT HERBAL FACEWASH CONTAINING STAR FRUIT EXTRACT

Abstract

Herbal face washesareincreasingly preferred oversynthetic formulations because theyprovide effective skin cleansing with feweradverse effects. Averrhoacarambola (Star Fruit) isarich source of naturalantioxidants, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, andvitaminC, making itapromising ingredientforskincare applications. Objective: The presentstudyaimed todevelop and evaluate anantioxidant herbal face wash containing Star Fruitextractforeffective cleansing, skin hydration, andantioxidantprotection. Theherbal face wash was formulated using StarFruitextract, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, XanthanGum, Panthenol, Optiphen Plus, andpurified water. The prepared formulation was evaluated forappearance, pH, viscosity, spreadability, foamability, foam retention, washability, skinirritation, and stability under different storage conditions.
