Prefilled Canadian sales-tax returns could yield CAD 13.6 billion in gains
A cost–benefit analysis estimates that prefilled goods and services tax and harmonized sales tax returns could improve Canada’s economy-wide welfare by CAD 13.6 billion over 10 years. More than 99% of the projected compliance-cost savings would go to medium-sized, small and self-employed businesses.
