Review links higher tacrolimus variability with kidney graft loss

A systematic review and meta-analysis examined whether large changes over time in tacrolimus blood levels were associated with outcomes after kidney transplantation. Across 10 cohort studies involving 11,647 adults, higher variability was associated with a greater risk of graft loss and rejection. The findings show an association, not proof that variability causes these outcomes.
