Review finds unreliable evidence for berberine in polycystic ovary syndrome

This systematic review examined randomized trials of berberine in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, previously called polycystic ovary syndrome. Four trials involving 452 participants were identified, but all were judged to have a high risk of compromised integrity and were excluded from quantitative analysis. The researchers concluded that current evidence is insufficient to establish whether berberine is effective in this condition.
