Lower methane emissions from full-scale stockpiles of the solid fraction of separated digested slurry with biochar amendment

Field application of biochar can be challenging due to loss through dust release and uneven spreading, and incorporation of biochar into organic fertilisers has been proposed as a practical application strategy. If biochar is added to the solid fraction prior to field application...

Direct Detection of Hydrogen Reveals a New Macroscopic Crustal Water Reservoir on Early Mars

Abstract The next great leap in Martian exploration is the return of samples to Earth. Maximizing their scientific value requires non‐destructive analytical techniques for early three‐dimensional characterization. Neutron computed tomography (CT), highly sensitive to hydrogen, co...

Synchrotron‐Based X‐Ray Tomography of Strontium Phosphate Chemical Gardens

ABSTRACT While self‐organized precipitation processes result in alluring, complex structures, such as chemical gardens, many questions about the mechanism of growth remain unanswered. One of the reasons for this is the limitations in characterization techniques. Traditional techn...
