Synthesis and biological characterization of formononetin derivatives against phytopathogenic oomycete and bacteria: preliminary mechanisms, theoretical predictions, and biosafety evaluation

Abstract Background The increasing prevalence of phytopathogenic oomycetes and bacteria, particularly Phytophthora capsici ( Pc ) and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae ( Xoo ), poses severe threats to global agricultural production. Developing novel antimicrobial agents with dual ant...

Acylpiperidine Formononetin Derivatives as Antimicrobial Lead Compounds: Activity and Preliminary Mode-of-Action Studies

Abstract Global agricultural production relies heavily on chemical pesticides, leading to resistance, residues, and pollution, threatening sustainable agriculture. There is an urgent need to develop novel antimicrobial agents from low-toxicity, easily degradable natural products....

Design, synthesis, and biological activity studies of formononetin derivatives containing pyrazole amide moieties

Abstract BACKGROUND Global food security faces dual challenges from pathogen threats and increasing fungicide resistance, urgently necessitating the development of new pesticides that are efficient, low‐toxicity, and environmentally friendly. Natural products, owing to their stru...
